This autumn wedding inspiration at The Westgate Hotel was such a dream and we couldn’t have done it without all the amazing contributions from the talented vendors!
From Layered Vintage: “There’s something so glamorous about the changing seasons. Maybe it’s the change in climate and need for layers that makes autumn more dressed up and sophisticated?
We thought so, as we dreamt up a palette of rich berry tones complimented with ornate gold details and lots of elegant lace. Instead of heading outdoors we opted for downtown San Diego and classic scenery within The Westgate Hotel. “Exquisite details throughout, including chandeliers from Milan, French cherry wood furnishings, English wool carpeting and Italian marble rival the grand hotels of Europe.” So romantic and the perfect backdrop for our story to unfold.
The wedding dress inspired many aspects of this inspiration shoot as we wanted a more traditional dress with lots of intricate details. The Eden by Claire Pettibone ended up being the dress of choice because of the lace cut out in the back as well as the design on the trim– which inspired our wedding cake by Cute Cakes San Diego.
We fell in love with a floral and berry print dish set at Anthropologie and from there we were lost in glassware and blush striped linen napkins. One of our favorite details was mixing our vintage brass and gold bowls with Anthropologie’s new but old candlesticks with little gold leaves and flowers. Forget vases. Floating the blooms made for our elegant and unique centerpieces, which incorporated beautifully with our freshly foraged pomegranates and persimmons.
Nothing is more romantic than lyrics of a song. Maggie of Type and Title was all over the idea of a long scroll backdrop for the ceremony. She chose the perfect Sinatra love song for our couple to stand before. Natalie of Native Poppy dressed up the marble fireplace with her beautifully wild flowers and our hair stylist Kylie took the burgundy amaryllis to add to our bride’s hair.
We could go on and on but we will let Whiskers and Willow’s photos finish the story for us.”
